The day I received my first massage, my entire outlook on pain and healing completely changed. Recieving masssage therapy was more effective and impactful than any doctor recommended treatment I had tried prior.
It also left me with a question that I am still trying to answer to this day: 'Why isnt massage considered 'real healthcare'?
I began to understand how disconnected I was to my own body. Before then, I never knew why I felt pain, where it all started or how to deal with it. Growing up, taking ibuprofen and advil was normalized despite it's negative long term side effects. I see a world that profits off masking symptoms and encourages the reliance on daily pain medication to function yet has zero ability to actually heal the problem.I set out on this path to start understanding pain.
So why did I choose massage therapy as my career?Because, I believe in it.
